Purpose:
The Education Committee works to ensure that the curriculum of the Computer Engineering Department is updated in accordance with national and international academic standards, that course plans are developed effectively, student success is improved, and teaching–learning processes are continuously enhanced.
Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum Development:
Reviewing the course plans of undergraduate and graduate programs, preparing revision proposals, managing the processes for opening new courses or removing existing ones, and ensuring that course contents are updated in line with current developments in the field of Software Engineering.
Monitoring Course Syllabi:
Reviewing course syllabi prepared by academic staff at the beginning of each semester, ensuring compliance with the Bologna Process format, and archiving them for quality assurance across fields such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, computer networks, and related sub-disciplines.
Improving the Education Program:
Providing recommendations to improve the academic program based on alumni and employer surveys, student feedback, course evaluation results, and outputs from accreditation processes.
Monitoring Competencies:
Ensuring the alignment of program learning outcomes with course learning outcomes and supporting the use of assessment–evaluation methods that effectively measure these outcomes.
Evaluation of the Academic Advising Process:
Monitoring student advising processes and providing instructors with the necessary information and guidance.
Support for Accreditation and Quality Processes:
Preparing required educational data, analyses, and reports for accreditation and quality assurance activities such as MÜDEK or similar evaluation bodies.
Internationalization:
Contributing to course matching and curriculum alignment processes for incoming and outgoing students within exchange programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana by using course catalogs and content descriptions.
Periodic Activity Reports:
Preparing semesterly or annual reports on the activities carried out by the committee and presenting them to the department board.
