Quality Commission
Purpose:
This committee operates to establish, maintain, and continuously improve the quality assurance system in the Software Engineering department and to effectively manage national/international accreditation processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establishing and Maintaining the Quality Assurance System:
- Ensuring that the department's internal quality assurance system is structured in accordance with YÖKAK principles.
- Contributing to the department's mission, vision, goals, and strategic plan and ensuring that these elements are updated at regular intervals.
- Instilling a culture of continuous improvement in education, research, and administrative processes.
Execution of Accreditation Processes:
- Organize and coordinate the department's application processes to national and international accreditation organizations.
- Prepare the necessary self-assessment reports, monitoring reports, and supporting documents for accreditation.
- Ensure the necessary coordination with accreditation teams before, during, and after visits.
Monitoring and Evaluation of Education and Training Processes:
- Monitor and improve the consistency of program outcomes, course learning outcomes, and assessment methods.
- Ensure the regular implementation of student satisfaction, graduate tracking, and employer feedback surveys.
- Operate a continuous improvement cycle based on the data obtained.
Interaction with Internal and External Stakeholders:
- Ensure contributions to quality processes by regularly receiving feedback from students, graduates, employers, and teaching staff.
- Identify and report areas for improvement based on stakeholder opinions.
Improving Education and Teaching Quality:
- Conduct quality-focused evaluations of the curriculum, course content, teaching methods, and assessment tools.
- Regularly monitor academic documents such as ECTS credits, learning outcomes, and course files within the scope of the Bologna process.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Regularly archive all documents related to quality and accreditation processes in digital and physical formats.
- Prepare annual activity reports for the Department Quality Commission and share them with department management.
- Maintain regular communication with the University Quality Coordination Office to align department activities with university quality processes.
Training and Awareness Activities:
- Ensure the dissemination of a culture of quality throughout the department.
