Scholarship Commission
Purpose:
The Scholarship Committee is responsible for tracking scholarship opportunities, managing application processes, and coordinating with relevant institutions to support the educational lives of needy and successful students studying in the Software Engineering department. The primary purpose of the committee is to contribute to students' ability to maintain their academic success and overcome financial difficulties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring and Publishing Scholarship Announcements:
- Regularly monitor scholarship opportunities offered by universities, foundations, associations, private sector, and public institutions.
- Communicate current scholarship announcements to students in a timely manner via the department website and appropriate communication channels.
Execution of the Application Process:
- Collect scholarship application forms and ensure that applications are received in full.
- Inform students about the application process through information meetings when necessary.
Preliminary Evaluation and Ranking:
- Objectively evaluate scholarship applications according to specified criteria (academic achievement, income status, social conditions, etc.).
- Determine the priority list and report it to the scholarship provider institutions.
Interview Process (if applicable):
- Conduct one-on-one interviews with students when necessary to evaluate additional information regarding scholarship eligibility.
Coordination with Scholarship Providers:
- Maintain communication with scholarship providers, organizations, foundations, or individuals.
- Submit student lists, prepare necessary documents, and monitor the process transparently.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor the academic status of scholarship recipients on a term basis and evaluate their compliance with scholarship conditions.
- Prepare end-of-term reports on scholarship processes and share them with department management.
Encouraging Activities:
- Encourage students who are particularly successful and in need of financial support to apply for scholarships.
- Organize information and guidance meetings about scholarship opportunities.
Data Privacy and Fairness:
- Protect the privacy of students' personal and financial information.
- Act in accordance with the principles of equality, transparency, and fairness in all evaluation processes.
