Internship Commission
Purpose:
The Internship Committee is responsible for planning, executing, evaluating, and supervising internship processes aimed at enabling Software Engineering students to gain professional knowledge, skills, and real-world work experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Determining Internship Guidelines and Criteria:
- Determine the department's internship principles in line with the university's internship guidelines, update them, and share them with students.
- Ensure that internship job descriptions and evaluation criteria appropriate to the discipline of Software Engineering are created.
Internship Application Process:
- Evaluate students' internship applications and approve eligibility.
- Verify whether the institution where the internship will be conducted is related to the field of software and provide guidance for ineligible applications.
Creating the Internship Calendar:
- Determine the academic calendar for the internship application, approval, work period, report writing, and submission processes.
- Announce the calendar to students on the department website and through announcement channels.
Internship Evaluation Process:
- Review students' internship journals, reports, workplace evaluation forms, and other required documents.
- Approve or, if necessary, reject the validity of internship work in terms of content, duration, and professional suitability.
Supervision of Internship Locations:
- Monitoring students' work processes by contacting the institutions where internships are carried out, when necessary.
- Strengthening cooperation with the institutions where internships are carried out and creating new internship opportunities.
Ensuring Alignment with Education:
- Ensuring that internship work is aligned with the department curriculum, learning outcomes, and professional gains.
- Ensure that students gain experience appropriate to software engineering processes.
Information and Guidance:
- Organize information meetings about the internship process and support students in finding internship placements.
- Collaborate with the university career center and industry partners when necessary.
Developing Corporate Partnerships:
- Establish partnerships with the private sector, public institutions, technology companies, R&D centers, and software companies to provide quality internship opportunities.
- Conduct joint projects to strengthen the connections of department students with the industry.
Resolving Internship-Related Objections and Issues:
- Evaluate objections, complaints, and issues communicated by students or institutions.
- Ensure the process progresses smoothly by offering necessary solutions.
