Purpose
The Career Planning and Development Committee conducts academic and professional guidance activities to enhance the career awareness of Software Engineering students, strengthen their industry-oriented competencies, and increase graduate employment rates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Career Information and Guidance
- Inform students about career pathways, specialization areas, and sector expectations within the field of software engineering.
- Support the provision of individual or group-based academic advising.
- Develop guidance mechanisms for post-graduation career opportunities.
Industry Engagement and Collaboration
- Expand communication networks with software companies, technopark firms, and professional organizations.
- Organize career days, seminars, technical talks, networking, and mentoring events.
- Encourage student access to internship, part-time work, and project-based employment opportunities.
Professional Skills Development
- Organize training activities to enhance communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, project management, and engineering ethics.
- Support certification processes and skills development planning required for global career opportunities.
Alumni Tracking and Feedback
- Ensure the accuracy and currency of the alumni information system and monitor alumni career progress.
- Analyze alumni feedback to contribute to curriculum and program improvements.
Student Portfolio and Career Preparation Support
- Plan activities for CV preparation, cover letters, personal presentation (e.g., LinkedIn), and interview readiness.
- Promote the development of student technical portfolios (e.g., GitHub repositories, project showcases).
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Prepare regular evaluation reports on student career trends and graduate employment statistics.
- Analyze event outcomes and establish action plans for continuous improvement.
